Description
You can relax in Weerribben-Wieden National Park. The only sound you hear here is the rustling of the wind through the reeds and the birds chirping. Add to that a beautiful landscape full of water, reeds and wetlands and you have a wonderful hike for nature lovers.
Peat extraction in the Weerribben
A large part of this route takes you through the beautiful landscape of the Weerribben. This area was created by the peat extraction that took place there for many centuries. Special strips of land were released to allow the peat to dry. You can still see these so-called'ribs\\\' in the landscape today. After about 15 kilometers you cycle past the Reiger polder mill and shortly afterwards you cycle past the Rietvink polder mill.
Restaurant Ant Waterer
This bike tour ends at Restaurant Ant Waeter. Take a seat on the terrace at the edge of the water and enjoy a tasty snack and a drink. Whether you want a cup of coffee with homemade apple pie, a small snack or an extensive meal, it's all possible here. Spending the night here is also an option in the associated B&B or at the mini-camping. Sleep well and explore hiking route 352492 rested the next day.

Reeds and cattails are the vegetation that you often encounter at the edge of the water in this area. You can also admire crab shear, water lilies, yellow plum and hemlock in the water itself. Furthermore, this area is very popular with birds such as the purple heron, the black tern and the reed warbler. In the spring it is regularly buzzing with the chirping of all the birds that live here.
